Teachers Day celebrated at TMU

Dr. Gholami, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology who was a guest at this ceremony, pointed to the post-revolution scientific developments in Iran and said: "we need to make this potential more tangible in the society, so we look for alumni who can change the present attitude". He added:"we now live in a totally different era; we need a managerial system which can make wise decisions with the least adverse effects. Scientific development is manifested by qualitative indexes, and we pride ourselves on the present status of our country in this regard. We expect the higher education system not only to preserve the present indexes and its active participation in scientific communities of the world, but also pay close attention to the outcomes of their research endeavors for Iranian people”.

In another part of his speech, Dr. Gholami, referred to the programs and policies at his respective ministry such as the enhancement of research, revision of curricula et cetera.

The other speakers of this ceremony were Dr. Ahmadi, TMU chancellor, and Dr. Jalali, the vice-president for academic affairs who briefly talked about the achievements of TMU's faculty members and outlined the procedure used for the selection of model professors to be appreciated on teachers' day.
